DuoLingo is bridging the generational language gap by turning notifications into meaningful reminders to connect. Timed around culturally significant dates, these nudges encourage Gen Z to practice their grandparents’ native language right when it matters most. When it’s time to practice, DuoLingo also sends a notification to grandparents, prompting them to call or remind you to practice. With personalized characters, call prompts, and conversation starters, DuoLingo transforms language learning from a solo habit into a shared experience—because the best connections don’t need subtitles.
