STANDSTILL

Assistant director, script editor, and DP for Colette Syed’s short film “STANDSTILL.”

Shot at the enigmatic Avus Motel, the film follows the main character as he revisits both a significant place in his past and the memory of his lost lover. Building on the motel’s history as a previous race track, the film uses themes of light, darkness, memory, reflection, presence, emptiness and gravity to weave the forlorn narrative.

This project was written and directed by Nicolette Syed (Graphic Design, Term 7) while I contributed creative consultation, including script editing, assistant direction, DP / cinematography to the project.
