Petra Collins — Being & Becoming

Petra Collins skyrocketed to fame in her late teenage years, where the subject of her photographic work was primarily other teens. The images, shot exclusively on 35mm film, feature soft pastel colors and dreamy lighting. Much of her work was shot with an unflinching and unobstructed focus on the adolescent feminine experience. She has been deemed the “it girl” of young fashion image-makers, and distinctly recognized for the artwork made through her female gaze. She has published several books of photography, and continually expanded her artistic endeavors.

Now closer to 30 years old, her work has taken on new explorations. She is a lauded director of photography, actress, and photographer. Her list of clients and collaborators include Gucci, Fenty by Rihanna, MAC Cosmetics, Bulgari, Nordstrom, Juicy, Adidas, Levi’s, Calvin Klein, Vans and many others.
